The book "140 years relations between Bulgaria and Italy. Diplomacy, Economics, Culture (1879–2019)" was published. Compilers and editors are Prof. Alexandre Kostov, Dr. habil., Corresponding member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, from the Institute of Balkan Studies & Centre of Thracology, and His Excellency Stefano Baldi, Ambassador of Italy to the Republic of Bulgaria. The book was published by Tendril Publishing House.
The book came as a result of а long-standing cooperation between the IBSCT and Roma Tre University, with special contribution of the Embassy of the Republic of Italy in Sofia. The edition is dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Italy and Bulgaria, and includes 12 papers (6 in Bulgarian and 6 in Italian language) by distinguished Bulgarian and Italian researchers. The book introduces various historical aspects of the relations between the two countries from 1879 to this day using diplomacy as main link between the different issues presented. The research also highlights important aspects in the bilateral relations in politics, economy and culture. The edition is supplemented by chronology of main events characterizing the two countries during the period under review.
